Jihomoravský kraj zasáhly během června ničivé bouře a tornádo o síle F4, tedy druhý nejsilnější stupeň na Fujitově stupnici, což mělo hned pro několik obcí devastující dopad.

Motorový surfing, jakožto sport vzniklý na Jižní Moravě, se v rámci svého seriálu MotoSurf Europe alespoň symbolicky zapojil do pomoci obětem této přírodní katastrofy. Projekt #werraceformoravia vznikl jako dobrovolná sbírka v rámci závodu mistrovství Evropy, který se jel v rodišti závodů motorových surfů – ve Valticích. Závodníci, návštěvníci i organizátoři přispěli celkovou sumou 27 500 korun, která byla predana z rukou promotéra závodů a majitele Race Areny Valtice starostovi Moravské Nové Vsi. Prostředky budou využity na rekonstrukci školy v Moravské Nové Vsi.

Škola byla značně poškozena během bouře, když se tornádo o rychlosti bezmála 300 km/h prohnaly Břeclavskem a Hodonínskem. Děti z patnácti tříd tak musely od začátku nového školního roku dojíždět do náhradních prostor škol v Břeclav a Hodoníně. Škola však za pomoci prochází rozsáhlou rekonstrukcí vnitřních i venkovních prostor. Společnost Zechmeister, provozovatel Race Areny Valtice, navíc darovala obci celkem 450 tun písku na urovnání terénu a zemní práce. Byť jde o kapku v moři obrovských škod, věříme, že miniprojekt #weraceformoravia pomůže žákům k dřívějšímu návratu do školních lavic ve své místní škole.

In the middle of June, the South Moravian region was hit by a devastating storm and a tornado with a force of F4, which is the second strongest level on the Fujita scale. This had a devastating impact on several villages in the region.

Motorized surfing, a new sport that was created in the South Moravia region, has decided to get symbolically involved and help the victims of this natural disaster during its racing series MotoSurf Europe. Therefore, project #weraceformoravia was created as a voluntary fundraiser within the scope of the European championship, which was happening in the cradle of motorized surfboard races – in Valtice. Racers, fans and organizers contributed the sum of 27 500 Czech Crowns, which was given to the Mayor of Moravska Nova Ves from the hands of the race promoter and the owner of Race Arena Valtice. Funds will be used for the reconstruction of school in Moravska Nova Ves.

The school was heavily damaged during the storm, when the tornado and ice hail rushed through Breclav and Hodonin at the speed of 300 kilometers per hour. Children from 15 different classrooms had to commute to the substituted classrooms in Breclava, while the damaged school is undergoing extensive renovations of the interior and exterior. Company Zechmeister, owner of the Race Arena Valtice also donated 450 tons of sand for ground works and leveling the terrain. Even though this is just a drop of help in the ocean of damage, we believe that the mini project #weraceformoravia will help students with a prompt return to the desks in their local school.
